Pre-Dental Club

The Pre-Dental Club is for all those interested in one of the dental professions. Several events each year provide opportunities to prepare for application to dental school, gain volunteering experience, and interact with dental professionals, students and faculty across the nation.

Pre-Optometry Club

The Pre-Optometry Club is for students interested in learning more about optometry and eye care professions. This club is open to all majors and holds scheduled meetings throughout the year for guest speakers, OAT preparation, application advice, and other optometry related events.

Purdue Pre-Veterinary Medical Association

The Purdue Pre-Veterinary Medical Association (PPVMA) is a pre-professional organization that is entirely dedicated to all students, no matter their major, who are interested in the field of veterinary medicine. Members of the PPVMA have the opportunity to connect with veterinary medical professionals who come from a wide range of backgrounds, beliefs, and experiences. The PPVMA is involved with outside philanthropies and local organizations, which gives student members the chance to perform meaningful service acts in order to improve their community while gaining necessary small and large animal experience. PPVMA is an organization where students can form connections with new people who have shared interests and have fun cultivating knowledge and understanding for their future in the veterinary world.

Occupational Therapy/Physical therapy/Athletic Training Club

OT/PT/AT club prepares students for admission into Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Athletic Training programs through presentations by programs, interactions with local professionals, and advice from peers on courses, extracurriculars, and preparation. We also participate in volunteer projects and host social events throughout the semester to bond with our club and help improve the quality of life for residents of the Lafayette area. We work together to learn and grow as professionals in our field.

Before your request to join will be accepted, you must pay dues through TooCOOL Purdue.

Pre-Physician Associate Club

The objective of the Pre-Physician Assistant Club is to provide members with the information necessary to pursue a career as a Physician Assistant. The Pre-Physician Assistant Club allows those who are interested in the field to gain information about the application process, develop a strong understanding of what the medical career involves and its wide range of opportunities, and receive advice from Physician Assistants as well as current students in Physician Assistant programs. The club will also present members with opportunities to participate in relevant hands-on activities, including a medical mission trip.

The Pre-Genetic Counseling Club aims to help undergraduate students on their journey to becoming a genetic counselor. Many of our meetings involve guest speakers (current genetic counselors, genetic counseling students, and other professionals in the field), advocacy nights, application nights, group volunteering, social nights, and more.

Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA)

APAMSA is a local pre-med chapter of a national organization.

Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association - Purdue Chapter fosters growth in knowledge of the healthcare challenges of the AANPHI community and helps future generations to address and combat the gaps in healthcare of the AANHPI communities.

Brain Exercise Initiative

The Brain Exercise Initiative is a volunteer organization that uses simple math, writing, and reading exercises as an intervention to help prevent or slow the onset of Alzheimer's disease in the elderly. Extensive research from Japan shows that simple math exercises and reading aloud for just 30 minutes a day can positively impact memory for those with Alzheimer's disease. There are over 80 BEI chapters worldwide.

Purdue MedLife is a part of a non-profit organization that partners with low-income communities in Latin America and Africa. They work on community development projects to improve access to healthcare and education.

Students focus on areas such as mobile clinics, public health, human rights, and breaking the cycle of poverty.

Women of Color in Healthcare Association

The Women of Color in Healthcare Association, abbreviated WCHA, serves to foster an environment conducive to the upbringing of rising healthcare professionals, specifically, but not limited to, those who are minority women or possess marginalized backgrounds from low-income, underserved communities. WCHA exists to bridge the gap between the lack of ethnic diversity in current healthcare positions and those in pursuit of said positions, to discuss and act on current issues in healthcare policies, and to increase awareness concerning various health topics.

WCHA believes in the fundamental right of every person to manage their state of health, fertility, and pursuit of any healthcare career. WCHA includes people of all genders and works hard to relay opportunities for all men, women and nonbinary people. WCHA supports full access to comprehensive reproductive and complementary healthcare services in settings that preserve and protect the essential privacy of each person; and supports access to medically accurate educational programs that enhance understanding of sexual and reproductive health.

Medical Humanities Book Club

The mission of the Medical Humanities Book Club is to promote awareness and development of ideas in students seeking to join healthcare-related fields. Members will enhance their perspectives by exploring different points of view from patients and healthcare workers, variety of cultures’ expression, health disparities, past outcomes in healthcare scenarios, and more through readings, films, and discussions.

Boiler Medical Humanities Review

The Boiler Medical Humanities Review is the first student-led medical humanities journal that allows Purdue students and staff the chance to channel their experience with medicine, illness, healthcare, and the body through writing and other media. Whether or not you have an interest in medicine, in times of increasing political and socioeconomic tensions, we understand that being attuned to your body (in illness and in healthiness) is the first step towards deeper self-grounding. We want to celebrate the diverse authenticity in such experiences.

Purdue In Indianapolis Medical Association

The Purdue in Indianapolis Medical Association (PiMed) aims to provide Purdue University students interested in medicine with the resources needed to pursue a career in the medical industry.
